"No Surprises" Act

*Under the "No Surprises" Act, we are committed to helping you understand your

financial responsibility when it comes to receiving mental health services.

Beginning January 1, 2022, health care providers are required  to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance a “Good Faith Estimate”. This estimate includes an explanation of medical items and service costs.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (888) 551-5168.

What does the initial session look like?

The initial session aims to establish a sense of comfort and safety for the client, as therapy can be an unfamiliar and vulnerable process. It is our responsibility to create a non-judgmental and empathetic environment to encourage openness and trust. Ultimately, the goal of the initial session is to pave the way for future therapeutic progress and positive outcomes.

What is a professional life coach?

A Professional Life Coach is a trusted mentor who can help you identify and uncover what keeps you from reaching your fullest potential. It is a one-on-one relationship that provides a supportive and non-judgmental space to help you create what you want for yourself. You can find a Life Coach to help you strategize and acquire the tools you need to achieve your goals. It consists of steps to help you identify and reframe your thoughts and attitudes. It can also help you break negative habits, acquire new methods of identification, and take action to achieve your maximum potential!

Do you offer virtual or telehealth therapy sessions?

Yes! Pathfinder is currently a telehealth practice. We are exclusively providing virtual sessions for the time being.

What types of people have life coaches?

People from all walks of life work with professional Coaches to help attain their goals. Life Coaches work with people in all areas of their life including relationships, career, finance, health and more. Working with a personal Coach is not limited to any type of person, but is best for those who want to take initiative in their own life. People who get a Life Coach are committed to a more fulfilled life and are willing to do the work needed to get there.

How will life coaching help?

The results will vary depending on what brings you to a Life Coach. If you get a Life Coach to help you out professionally, life coaching can help you make your current job more gratifying, gain better focus on managing your work, and market yourself more effectively. If your reasons are personal, you can find a life coach to help you improve your relationships, resolve ongoing negative behaviors, improve your overall health, and grow spirituality. With life coaching you can live a more balanced and enhanced life, and make your dreams come true!

What happens in a life coaching session?

Each session is tailored to the client and will vary based on individual needs. In the beginning, we will discuss what you are committed to accomplishing through our work together and we will begin to create a plan to achieve your goals. Periodically, I will give you assignments to help direct your progress. We will work together to acknowledge obstacles, explore alternate perspectives and celebrate successes. With the conclusion of each session, we will revisit your goals and evaluate the next steps that are needed to achieve these results.

How does therapy differ from life coaching?

Therapy is designed to address psychological issues or concerns that help individuals to live a healthy and fulfilling life. On the other hand, life coaches focus on empowering individuals to identify their goals and develop constructive habits and skills to move towards their vision of success.

Do you offer virtual or telehealth therapy sessions?

Yes! Pathfinder is currently a telehealth practice. We are exclusively providing virtual sessions for the time being.
